SOLITUDE

I haven't posted in a while, and I feel a little like I'm cheating to come on and post something that I read, but it was so wonderful I just wanted to share it. I'll try to get back in and post something of my own one day soon.  Meanwhile, please enjoy this.

SOLITUDE
by: Alexander Pope (1688-1744)
How happy he, who free from care
The rage of courts, and noise of towns;
Contented breaths his native air,
In his own grounds.

Whose herds with milk, whose fields with bread,
Whose flocks supply him with attire,
Whose trees in summer yield him shade,
In winter fire.

Blest! who can unconcern'dly find
Hours, days, and years slide swift away,
In health of body, peace of mind,
Quiet by day,

Sound sleep by night; study and ease
Together mix'd; sweet recreation,
And innocence, which most does please,
With meditation.

Thus let me live, unheard, unknown;
Thus unlamented let me dye;
Steal from the world, and not a stone
Tell where I lye.

I saw the comment you left over on Pete's blog and just wanted to stop by and wish you luck on your new adventure. We have done something similar (RV living on our own land) and I have to say it is the best thing that I have ever done!

Thanks! I am so excited! We are living in our travel trailer now, and I can already see that life is better, smaller! I feel literally like I've been set free from bondage. Now it's just a matter of getting the money together to make the move. I've read and studied and planned and hoarded 'needful things'. I can only do so much learning and planning from here. Very soon now I get to put it all to good use.

Thanks so much for coming over and posting. It's great to meet someone else who is of similar mindset, and maybe even a kindred spirit. I checked out your sites. :) I subbed to your bacon and eggs site through my reader. Some real good stuff in there!
